Identify the Table’s Playing-Bed System
Provide the manufacturer, model, size, manual and complete component list. A slate table differs from a table using another bed material, and a multi-piece bed has different setup requirements from a single supplied section. Identify the frame, legs, bed pieces, rails, pockets and any included cloth or installation materials. State whether the table is new or being rebuilt after dismantling.
Missing rail bolts, damaged bed edges or incomplete support components need to be understood before scheduling. Photos of the delivered parts and their labels are useful. A replacement piece that looks similar may not match the table’s support or rail system.
Allow Cue Clearance and a Practical Delivery Route
Plan the room for cue movement around the entire playing area, using the actual table and intended cues. Walls, columns, stairs and furniture can obstruct shots even when the table itself fits. Choose the final position before the heavy bed sections are installed.
Describe the route for the largest and heaviest components, including doorways, stair turns and elevator restrictions. Provide their dimensions and weight where known. Clear a protected staging area and identify floors, walls and nearby furnishings that need care. Transport, specialist carrying, hoisting and removal of an existing table require separate arrangements.
Set Up the Frame, Bed and Rails Together
The table’s instructions govern the support frame, leg positions and bed installation. Bed sections and joints, where present, require the specified support and alignment before the remaining table components are completed. Rails and pockets must fit the actual model rather than be forced into a similar pattern.
Accurate leveling is reviewed across the playing bed in the table’s final position, using the adjustments and procedure appropriate to that design. A stable cabinet alone does not prove that the playing surface is correctly set. Damaged supports, a warped component or an unresolved seam cannot be treated as a routine leveling adjustment.
Distinguish Installation From Refelting and Repair
Identify whether the supplied kit arrives with its playing surface finished or whether cloth work is part of the requested installation. Refelting an existing table, repairing cushions, restoring a cabinet or correcting damage is not included automatically; each needs a separate agreed scope. Moving and relocation also remain distinct from setting up the delivered components.
Other game-room pieces require their own planning. A long shuffleboard table has different support and end-clearance needs, while multi-game tables may use interchangeable tops or folding mechanisms. List them separately if they share the room.
