What resurfacing means
Resurfacing generally removes the existing decking and may replace railings, fascia and stairs while retaining some or all of the framing. It can update appearance without rebuilding every component.
The process is appropriate only when the retained structure has been inspected for decay, corrosion, movement, spacing and compatibility with the new surface product.
Wood-to-composite conversions
Composite boards may require different joist spacing, blocking, fastening and picture-frame details than the original wood surface. Existing framing cannot automatically be assumed compatible.
The added scope may include joist protection, correction of drainage problems and replacement of hardware that becomes accessible after boards are removed.
A realistic resurfacing estimate
An initial estimate can be based on dimensions and photographs, but hidden conditions often become visible during removal. The agreement should explain how concealed deterioration will be documented and approved.
Railings and stairs should be evaluated as part of the same project rather than treated as unrelated accessories.
Frequently asked questions
How is project availability confirmed?
Submit the property location and project type through the project request page or chat. Availability and the appropriate next step are confirmed individually.
Are permits included automatically?
Permit responsibilities depend on the assigned project scope and agreement. Municipal requirements must be confirmed before structural work begins.
Can I send photographs first?
Yes. Wide views, connection details, stairs, railings and visible damage help organize the first conversation, although photographs do not replace an on-site assessment.
