We are pleased to provide you with the information required to ensure you are properly registered for the school. Please read this carefully and respond by the dates noted.
EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION - Deadline January 31st, 2006
Early Bird Tuition for the school is US$1200.00 (not including $84.00 GST) or C$1500.00 (not including $105.00 GST). Tuition must be paid in full by January 31, 2006 to qualify for this reduced rate.
REGULAR REGISTRATION - Deadline March 23rd, 2006
Regular tuition fees after January 31st, 2006 are US$1360.00 (not including $95.20 GST) or C$1700.00 (not including $119.00 GST). Registration is confirmed following receipt of tuition and is handled on a first come first served basis. Deadline for regular registration is March 23rd, 2006.
This tuition covers the cost of:
- a comprehensive reference binder containing all course materials;
- breakfast, lunch and two coffee breaks daily;
- Sunday, Monday and Thursday night dinners;
- transportation to and from Cedar School events; and five days of class instruction.
Please note the tuition fees do not cover the cost of travel and hotel accommodation.
Students with less than one year experience in the cedar industry are required to complete our WRCLA On-Line Training program prior to arriving at the school (http://www.cedar-training.org). The WRCLA has established this requirement to ensure all participants have an equal opportunity to succeed and excel at the school.
To register, tuition can be paid either by credit card (MasterCard or Visa), check or money order. Please fill out the form and return it with your preferred method of payment. EarlyBird payments are required no later than January 31st or regular tuition no later than March 23rd. Please copy and send us one form per registrant. Note that space is guaranteed only through receipt of full tuition payment.
This year's school will be held at the Hilton Vancouver Airport, Richmond B.C. (www.vancouverairport.hilton.com) a short shuttle bus ride from the Vancouver Airport. You will be responsible for making your own hotel reservation. The guaranteed room rates are as follows: Standard Junior Suite - $155.00 (Cdn)+tax; Deluxe Suite - $175.00 (Cdn)+tax. Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. and check-out is 1:00 p.m. Complimentary hotel facilities for their registered guests include: swimming pool and fitness centre.
When making your reservation, be sure to state that you are with the WESTERN RED CEDAR LUMBER ASSOCIATION - Group Code "CDR" to ensure you receive the guaranteed rate and are included in the guest room block. Your room must be booked before March 22nd, 2006, after that date the hotel will release our block of rooms. The Hilton Vancouver Airport hotel's direct number is: 1-604-273-6336 or you can call the hotel's North American reservation number at 1-800-HILTONS. As the first function of the school curriculum begins early on Sunday April 23rd it is recommended that all attendees plan to arrive on Saturday, April 22nd. Please also note, the Awards Banquet on Thursday evening does not conclude until approximately 9:30pm so it is recommended attendees depart on Friday, April 28th.
